COUNSELLING/CHAKRA
SKILLS FOR PRACTITIONERS
Enhance your work with clients through gaining theoretical and experiential knowledge and understanding of various counselling skills and techniques. This
8-week psycho-spiritual course will also incorporate the Chakra system as a necessary aspect of healing on physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels.
The course will offer an outline of certain
fundamental counselling theories and techniques as well as
providing an opportunity to practice these skills through
role plays and other group exercises.
Each session will offer an in depth understanding of the
functions of each of the Chakras various processes, the
skill and knowledge base of the participants will be
greatly enhanced.
The
Facilitator is a qualified social worker in private
practice and experienced in alternative and holistic forms
of therapy.

CHAKRA COURSE
The chakra system is a metaphysical system, the
knowledge of which dates back as far as the 7th Century.
Much has been written and theorized about this ancient
inner network, however theoretical knowledge of the
chakras is merely a starting point to understanding this
complex and fascinating realm of our being. In order to
use and work with this powerful spiritual system one
needs to integrate knowledge and insight and blend it
into one's daily life.
This intensive course enables one to explore, in a safe environment, the many levels of the chakra system and how the functioning of each chakra effects virtually very aspect of one's life. The course is designed experientially which provides the opportunity to explore the functioning of each of the chakras in depth. Techniques used include journal writing, meditations, physical exercises, rituals, interactive group discussions, and various processes that facilitate self-awareness and growth.
Dates: The course is run over 5 alternative Saturday mornings.

101 WORKSHOP
This workshop is a four-week workshop for someone either, starting out with meditation, or some one who is struggling to meditate. This is
a workshop where the participants will be given certain techniques each week
- which will help them to attain a meditative state
easily. They will then be able to practice the techniques in the workshop environment and at home
during the following week. These techniques are simple to
master, and there will be time available to ask questions and gain clarity on any of the points with which the participant is
uncertain.

Joanne Brodie is a certified addictions counsellor (NAADAC* UK), and is trained in the 12 core functions of addictions counselling. She was one of the first counsellors in South Africa to be accredited by NAADAC, and has recently been invited to sit on a board of examiners for the certification of South African professionals in the field of addictions counselling.
Joanne has been involved in the field of recovery for eight years including
four and a half years at a leading treatment center for chemical dependency where she was head of counselling. Alongside her role at the treatment center Joanne has also been developing various specialist therapy groups since 1998, and has grown her private counselling practice since 2000. In October 2001 Joanne left the treatment center in order to fully develop her private practice.
